Multivariate functions: Conclusion of Multivariate functions
Conclusion
In this chapter we looked at functions of several variables. In particular, we worked a lot with differentiable functions of two variables. Many notions, like differentiable and stationary points, that were known for functions of one variable have been introduced for several variables.
In particular, we have formulated criteria to determine extremes (minima and maxima) of bivariate functions.
The techniques are useful in many econometric models.
